This recommendation applies to all sites using Totara.
We have recently updated our recommendations about how to configure debugging settings in Totara. The updated recommendations:
- Ensure that your site remains secure, by preventing sensitive site configuration data from being leaked through debug messages.
- Ensure that sufficient debugging information is being recorded, so that it can be used in the event that a problem occurs.
- Provide instructions on how to temporarily increase the level of debugging, in a safe way, in order to provide additional debugging information when instructed by Totara support staff in order to better understand an issue which you reported.

The previous debugging recommendations and Totara default debugging settings are not necessarily appropriate for live production sites. Please review the new documentation and make changes to your site configurations where appropriate.
