I've recently come across a situation with our Totara site. When attempting to do a course backup, the progress bar moves forward, however hangs after a while and after a few minutes I get an error message. When enabling debugging I get the following results when running the backup again:
Can anyone provide any feedback as to what's going on, and how to solve this?

I suspect this might be caused by the server's max_allowed_packet size being set too low. I'd try increasing it.

Hi George, we were actually able to fix it with my vendor. However we're having an odd issue, which is that no matter what we select when backing up (only specific content, or all content) our course is fully backed up. So for example, one of our courses, which has a lot of videos, when we ask to backup only 4 SCORM packages, the result is a whopping 1.6GB backup file.
Any idea what may be causing this?
