Hi,
Is there a way to display the currently logged in users ? If for some reason I need to know how many users are currently working in the system, what would be the best way to do it ?

There is a Logged in user block that can be added to a page - this is configurable to display selected profile fields.
This should be available by default - if it isn't then go to
Site Admin > Plugins > Blocks > Manage blocks and make sure it is installed and visible.
