Just for clarity it sounds like your goal is to have a checklist for each staff member so that you can track their onboarding? It sounds like you're using a course page, would it make more sense to use a Learning PLan with competencies so that multiple managers could come in and check off the items the learner has completed? A screenshot of the items you're working with might help us better understand what you're looking for.
