Report visibility

Hi all

I've been tasked with creating a report that is visible to a select group of users (6 people). These users have no editing or admin rights, they just need to be normal users who can view 2 reports also.

Our provider has advised we would need a report viewer role added to our system. I can generate the report fine, and have built the role but the only way I can get it to make the report visible to these users is to give them permission to "Create, edit and delete Reports" in Report Builder. I don't want to do this as they can then edit the reports we use. Any ideas or insights please? How have you made it work?

A scheduled report is the best option but this is not an option for this group.

Many thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

Rather than assign a permission to the role, what you can do is edit the report, go into the Access tab and choose the new viewer role as one that has permission to see that particular report. You'll likely need to change the 'Content' dropdown to 'Users may have role in any context'. This video from the Reports course should help: https://youtu.be/Q7NjjOr5Y1I?t=4m37s

Thanks!
