Interactive content creation

Hi All,

I would like to know that if you have some good knowledge about content creation in totata, for a now we are using H5P activity to create interactive content and would like to know what are the other method to create interactive activity or content that could help learner to have fun loving and intuitive learning. It would be great if you can share your knowledge with me.

for example we would like to create learning content something like this

1. Fruit Name - Crosswords

2. Catch bubble

3. Wheel spin

4. spot the difference and etc

I have think about some tool such as

Articualte,Active present,iSpring,Adapt,Capative but I dont know which is the bested suited for totara.

If we make some activity on Articualte,Active present,iSpring,Adapt,Capative so we need to export into scorm 1.2 and then I can upload on totara? is it true.

Hi Raul,

In the Academy, we use a range of authoring tools to create the courses that you can find here. We use Adapt to create our 'In a nutshell' activities that give you an overview to the feature the course is discussing. Have a look at the example from the 'Dashboards and basic theming' course.

We use Articulate to create system simulations, you can find an example under the Try me section of the course. Jordan Ash also led a Webinar on how to create these system simulations, so you might be interested in watching that.

We also use Camtasia to create our demonstration videos and you can find an example of one of those here.

You'd be able to use authoring tools such as Articulate and Adapt and the other tools you have mentioned and Totara Learn uses SCORM 1.2.

As a Partner, you also have access to Skills Journey which you will certainly find useful in developing your understanding further. Let me know if you'd like access to these courses.

The Academy will also be launching a course on SCORM soon so keep an eye out for that one.

Hi Rahul

In case you aren't aware there is a third party plugin for displaying and authoring H5P content - note that there are some possible security issues and the plugin is unsupported by Totara. This does work in Totara and as long as you are take the risk of these limitations you can use this for your current H5P content.

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your response. I also would like to know what are main characteristic or skills required for totara programmer if we hire someone what should we look for like experience with php programming, mysql database experience , it would be great if you can explain more .
