Hi Cecil,

You can use the "File" custom field type for a Seminar event and include the custom field in your notifications. This means you can upload a file against each event and the users will get a link to a direct download of that file, without you needing to add the absolute URL to each e-mail template. 

Attachments to the e-mail would be ideal but this has worked well as an alternative.
