another SCORM related question [these guys are the source of my grey hair]

In the SCORM settings--The newest version of totara shows me this Require all scos to return completed status box that i can check or not.

can someone please explain to me in English what exactly this means in real time? i get the part where some vendors (TR im glaring at you) love to sell SCORMS with mysterious components and NO instructions but should this box be kept marked as a default? what happens if you dont know because the vendor doesnt say? [whats the right question to ask?]

im just trying to get a good understanding of all the moving components that go into this type of file and why/how the new setting fits in?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Hi Christina

This box can be left as ticked -what this means is that if there are several SCORMs in the one SCORM file then each of the SCORMs needs to be completed before the SCORM activity is completed.

You can ask your vendor if the SCORM activity contains multiple SCORM - if it doesn't then this setting won't have any effect. If it does contain multiple SCORMs then the setting is probably right as you probably don't want to complete the activity if just one of the SCORM's is completed.

Worth saying that you can always open the IMSManifest.xml file in a SCORM package if you want to see how many SCOs there are, etc. because it's that file which defines the structure of the whole package. Doesn't solve all of the problems of mysterious components, but might give you some insights.
