TL-20273 - Add a new field called "Sender name" for emails sent from the no-reply address

Problem

Currently when an email is sent in relation to a course, for example when a certificate is emailed to a recipient, an email is sent from the no-reply address with no sender name (expected). However, if someone is assigned the 'Course creator' role at system level, then the email is sent from the no-reply address and includes the sender's (Course creator) name.

In the reported scenarios this is problematic for the following reasons:

The person apparently sending the email might not be related to the course in any way, therefore confusing the recipient.
For reasons around privacy it is not desirable to display the sender's name without a reason.

Suggested solution

Add a new field called "Sender name" which overrides the default value for emails sent from the no-reply address.

Just came on here to post exactly the same suggestion! Especially when there are multiple course creators inside a course, it's almost random as to who the email comes from! Having a field inside the course settings called Sender name would solve this issue for us.

Hi Tom

Please can you clarify if your solution is for all emails sent, for example Message User and No shows?

If the sender name could be selected for specific messages it would be beneficial to us rather than all or nothing.

Our clients find this indeed very confusing for the endusers & in terms of privacy it's indeed not ok to display the name.

Since there are mostly multiple course creators in the system, it's desirable to point out which name should be displayed when sending an e-mail or to have the option to display no name.
