Block permissions restoring a course

When restoring a course through backup and restore it appears several roles get automatically re-assigned when getting re-created. Guest and authenticated user are automatically added to the view block permissions even when they are prohibited in the original course.

This is an easy fix, but was hoping there was a way that the permissions we have set up are maintained when the course is restored.

We have also tested the course templates plugin and this suffers from the same issues. Have tested in Totara 11 and 12.

Hi Tom

I tried this out on a v12 site and prohibited the authenticated user and guest roles.

Then I backed up and restored the course and get a message and the block has the guest and authenticated user able to view the block.

The expected behaviour to me is that the role permissions for the block would stay the same when the course is restored.

I tried this changing activity permissions and these were restored without changing so think this is a bug. Are you able to create a ticket in the Help desk for this so we can look at this.
