Don't want link opening new tab

Hi everyone

Is there a way to put in a link without it opening a new tab?

I want learners to be able to click the button at the end of a course presentation to return to the course homepage.

The link works but it opens up the homepage in a new tab.

Is there anyway to get around this?

Thanks

Hi Raechel,

Have you tried using a label activity to carry the URL link, and not ticking 'open in new tab'? If you use restricted access then the link wont be available until you want it to be available.

cheers,

George.

Hi Raechel,

Im not sure what exactly the 'Course presentation' is but for this to work I'm assuming its an already existing activity, and the learner will complete it.

Steps to set up:

1) Add a label activity.

2) Edit the Label text and add an image of the button you'd like to use, highlight it and link it to the homepage. Don't tick 'Open in new window'!

3) Select Restrict access, click the eye to hide, set the Activity completion to the 'Course presentation' activity and set as 'must be marked as complete'

4) Save.

5) Test with a test user.

The button will appear after the user has completed the 'Course presentation' activity, clicking it will take the user to the homepage (or wherever the link directs).

cheers,

George.
