drip feeding courses with messaging

Hello,

Does anyone have experience of the best way to drip feed content?

We have a requirement to publish a course each month based on a training calendar. ie allergy training in April, Winter Health in November.

We can enrol audiences to the course each month via cohorts but there is no option to do the same for programmes which we want to use to trigger overdue notifications for each course. If we assign the programmes to the audience (dynamic) then any users added towards end of the year will get multiple messages rather than just one for the current course deployed.

Does anyone have any experience of similar scenarios and possible solutions?

Also - the monthly course enrolments via cohort are a manual process currently and it would be good to be able to schedule content so it's more timely for learners.

Is this on the roadmap at all?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul

There is quite a lot of work being dome on centralised notification in all areas including programs and certifications.

One of the improvements for this that is relevant is TL-9711  discussed in https://totara.community/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=18568

Using the current functionality have you tried setting a fixed due date for each cohort (audience) to the right month  and then using the program due message so the message is sent at different times for each cohort.
