Restore/Move Feedback Responses

Evening All,

I currently have a course with a feedback module, users have already submitted their responses but now...

We are migrating a lot of our content into new category and courses to keep things nice and clean from a navigation perspective, the problem I have is the feedback module itself needs to be moved also.

I can backup & restore this into a new category but not actually into the course within the category I would like restore it to, maybe I'm thinking about this wrong but, if I can move this course with feedback to the course within another category this would be superb.

Worst case scenario, be able to export the responses and import them back into the newly created feedback?

Any support on this would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Hi Cecil

Are you using the course backup and restore for this. This should allow you to backup just the Feedback module and restore into an existing course.

Are you wanting a copy of the Feedback with no user data in it in the new course. If this is the case then you can map the feedback activity in several course if you add the feedback to the Frontpage. This will give you access to the feedback data across several courses

Hey Craig,

Yes the normal course backup and restore, for some reason the course does't show as existing though. I'll have another check in the morning just on the off chance I'm missing a click.

No need for a copy of it really, once restore to new location I will retire old version.

Thanks for your swift reply... I'll be sure to update this thread!

++ Update.

Well... I just couldn't till the morning and just had another look.

You Craig, are indeed superb and great support, your reinforcing to me i could indeed do this task using the restore function has just learn't me something new.

There are 2 forms of restore, the basic Restore (which didn't work for existing) and the Restore Course, using the Restore Course worked perfectly, no loss of data or entries and landed in the correct place.

Thank you so much ;)
