Error Message "Only trusted backups can be restored."

Gratitude in advance for anyone who can help me resolve this. We have assigned users the Course Creator role in a specific Category.

We want them to be able to backup a course they created in our separate Development instance. Then to use that backup file to restore the course in our separate Production instance.

When we test it, we get the message "Only trusted backups can be restored."

? What is going on here? Is it a Course Creator role permission we need to change or something else? A user with Site Administrator role can backup and restore without the error.

Even when the Site Administrator creates a course backup file, the Course Creator gets the same error message when they try to restore the backup file created by the Site Administrator.

Hey Rick,

Totara doesn't trust backup files from other sites unless the user has a Site Admin Role, or Manager.

Enable this capability in the role:

Restore backup file that is not trusted (moodle/restore:restoreuntrusted)

And that will fix it.

One click on the Allow box to modify this permission in the Course Creator role and problem solved. So good to have an experienced community to draw upon.
