Hi everyone,

Is there a way to make sure learners watch an entire video rather than skip through it? At the moment learners can view the video or skip ahead and the completion will mark as it being complete. This is for videos that are hosted in the LMS and not streaming services such as YouTube.

I was having a look at the lesson activity and there is a completion setting "Require time spent" which has "Learner must do this activity at least for xyz minutes etc". This could be a way to "force" learners to watch the video if it is embedded inside the lesson (by setting the time limit for length of video + some more for the lesson). Any brains out there know of alternative ways or "tricks" of having learners to watch the entire video without having a quiz or test at the end?

Hi Brooke

From a technical point of view this can be achieved through authoring tools that produce SCORM such as Storyline, Camtasia  or through the H5P interactive video

From a  learning point of view the real test is whether they have understood the video content so a quiz around the video content could test it has been watched and understood.
