Cloning a course

does anyone know whether it is possible to clone a course? I am cloning appraisals, and would like to do the same thing with an entire course.

You can back up and restore the course.

so i can back up the course and restore? but would i then be able to keep the two versions running in parallel? thank you for your reply!
