Hi,

I was wondering what are the options that are available in Totara Learn 13 when it comes to bulk upload of courses.

We would use such an option very much, but in the version that we are using (2.9) there is no possibility to provide the values in the custom fields for courses.

Is there any such option in Totara 13? We would like to use those variables as filters/independent variables for multiple reports.

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,
Vlad

Hey Vlad,

You can use the field shortname - I'll ask our technical writers to update the help. Thanks for spotting the hole! Ill double check in 2.9 and get back to you.

cheers,

George.

Hi Vlad,

Cancel that! The functionality isn't available yet. Apologies.

We have a Feature request here: TL-5630 - The ability to use the course upload function to update information in custom course fields.

At this stage Im unable to give a date for when it will be developed, but please feel free to add a comment on the post.

regards,

George.

Hi George,

thank you for the reply.

Yap, that is unfortunate. We collect information on the courses to be delivered in the following month in the entire organization centrally and this function would be of great help.

I kind of realized that the entire Upload courses option is an inherited feature from Moodle. Are there perhaps any plugins that you think could help us with this challenge?

Hey Vlad,

I can't in good faith recommend any plugins, firstly because we definitely don't support them (because we have no quality control over them), and secondly because I know nothing about them - my view wouldn't be as good as yours based on the reviews available.

If you were to use any kind of 3rd party plugin (which we don't support) my advice to you in that hypothetical situation would be to test very thoroughly, back everything up and possibly get in touch with the developer.

regards,

George.
