Course not appearing in current learning

I have a course that should be appearing in an individuals learning quarterly.  It is a certification and I can see that the certification time frame is setup properly.  The student has taken this course 3 months ago and they need to retake the same course.  They passed the last one.  I know there has to be a setting that I can employ that even though the student has completed the module it will show up fresh in 3 months under current learning.

Any ideas?

Hi Thomas

When a user recertifiies their courses are reset and added to previous certification completions.in their Record of Learning.

If they go to the course for recertfying this will  enrol them in the course and show as current learning.

The Recertification window setting controls the period before the certification expires that a learner can start recertifying. In your case you want to make this as short as possible so users aren't able to start recertifying until the three months expiry date is up

Here is my challenge.  The way the system has been setup is only a few courses are using certifications.  Most of them are just courses that they don't need to recertify on.  It is working great for our certifications and recertification process.

I am doing a lot of rebuilding and it has been a while since I last worked with Moodle as I have moved on to other LMS platforms.

Am I correct in my understanding that if someone is assigned a course they can only be assigned a course once and have it show up on their learning plan without going in and editing their completion status to Assigned and updating their history with the old record?  If so that is fine.  I'm just trying to understand some of the parameters I am working within.
