Trouble with Certifications v12 - courses already complete

Hello,

We have struggled with certifications in Totara for quite some time.  I am again trying to take advantage of this feature, but it is not working for me.

My certification contains an original and a recert path that are exactly the same.  Sometimes when a new certification is assigned, the courses in the original certification path may have already been completed in previous years.  These are annual requirements, so the same course must be completed annually, and we need a record of each yearly completion.  These courses show up for the learner as already complete when I assign the certification.  How can I remedy that?  I need all courses to show up as incomplete when I assign the cert, regardless of prior completion history.

I am assuming the recert path with be different and the old completions will be archived for the learner, but I need that to be the case for the first time the cert is assigned too.  See attached screenshots for the setup.

Hi Jacque

The current course completion records will populate the course completion for the course when it is added to a Certification.

It isn't possible to use the course completion archive when the course is part of a Certification however you could do this before you added the course to the Certification.

Alternatively you could create a new course based on a backup of the old course without user data and add this course to the certification to keep these separate.

Regards.
