Viewing Completed course content again (eg PP) without resetting the course status to be n-Progress?

Hi there, we have some courses set up that have course completion requirements for certification purposes.  However, after users complete the course they're keen to go back and view the content again as it contains useful information for their jobs (PowerPoints, documents etc).  The courses are however resetting their completion status to be in progress again.  Is there a way once a course is completed that users can go back to view the content without it over-riding their previous status/compliance?

Hi Fiona

If you go to the Course settings and Completion tracking and Untick the box that says 'Mark as in Progress on first view' then the course will be shown as in progress when the first activity is completed.

Brilliant, thanks Craig. Just double checking, so for courses that already have certifications linked to them, it will be ok for users who have already completed the course?/changing this box won't affect previous users certifications at all?  I'd hate to break something.

If I've understood you correctly, once this box is unticked, users will be able to complete the course - then once completed, come back in again to re-visit content, and it won't change their setting back to to In-progress again?  This is just what I've been looking for if so.

Cheers,

Fiona

Hi Fiona

For existing completions changing the setting would mean that some users who were showing as in progress will be reset to no progress if they have viewed the course and not completed any activities. This wouldn't affect the certification status though as the course need to be fully completed to count towards the certification.

For future completions once the setting has been changed and the course are reset then the user will need to complete an activity before it will show as in progress.

It would pay to test this out on a test certification and user to see that this behaves as you require . Use the certification completion editor to view the changes to the completion records have been made.
