Self Enrolled Programs on Totara Community

Hello,

I wanted to see how this site sets up the Program enrollment. I like how I can enroll into a program and am given a "platform" page. How was this created? Was this a setting I am totally missing?

Any help with how to set this up would be wonderful!

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

We use a bit of a workaround to create this user experience. As well as having a program page, we also have a dashboard and two single activity courses

  • For the dashboard we use featured link tiles to provide links to each course in the program. We also provide links to the feedback activity and the certificate on this page. This is the page you have sent a screenshot of.

We use two single activity courses, each containing a URL resource.

  • The first of these courses uses self enrolment and links to the dashboard. This is what we use as the enrolment page. This course has completion tracking based on a user viewing the URL activity. Completing this course by viewing it places the user in an audience, this audience is then used to enrol the user in the program. We hide this course in our catalogue by using a pre filtered catalogue link in the main menu.

  • The second course is a URL link to the first course and uses guest access, this is the course users see in the catalogue. The purpose of this course is to display a course catalogue tile without a progress bar, otherwise a user would see the program as 100% complete when they have enrolled in the program. To hide the progress bar on the course tile we disable any completion tracking for this course.
