Ending a Certification

Ending a Certification

We are in the process of ending a certification and starting another with updated courses for our annual compliance courses.  I just want to make sure I don't miss a step.  In the certification details would we just need to modify the "available until" date to the official ending date, or would we also need to remove the assigned audiences?

Just wanting to make sure the new certification starts out clean and we don't have a duplication with a prior certification program.

Any advice?

Hi Teri

With the setting the certification is hidden from non administrators in all areas so the learners assigned to this won't be able to access the certification.

Unassigning the user will unenrol them from the Certification which means that the completions in the old Certification will be lost to admins .  If you don't  want this then keep the users assigned . If they are being assigned to the old certification by a dynamic audience then under the Auotmatically update membership untick the

  • Make a user a member when they meet rule set criteria

so no new members are added to the audience that enrols the user in the old Certification

Thank you.

So modify the certification details to end prior to to the certification date and then it should stop any further assignments. and update the audience so there aren't new members added. Correct?

Hi Teri

Yes that's what I would do - there may be a more efficient way that others have actually used whereas my approach is theoretical.
