Concern: When a learner searches for a course in FedTalent and click on a course that they would like to complete and receive credit for, that learner is navigated to a page other than the enrollment page instead navigated to the content page (SCORM or Activities page).

Scenario: A learner logs into FedTalent, begins the search for a specific course and when the course is located the learner clicks on the course, but rather than being directed to the course enrollment page, the learner is directed to a content page. The learner begins the course thinking they are enrolled. The learner completes the course but is obviously not marked complete since the learner did not enroll. This causes confusion with learners since they have completed the course without enrolling.

Question(s):

1.       Is there such a way to directly navigate a learner to the enrollment page of a course so they are able to enroll instead of being directed to a page where they think they are able to complete and unfortunately do not enroll.

2.       Is there a reason when searching for a course that the course is configured to launch to a content page instead of an enrollment method page?

This would save confusion for a learner to be directed to an enrollment page where they can see the enrollment button. We realize there is a enroll options button on the content activity page or in the summary if available for self enrollment, but this does not work with most users.

Hi Nicholas

This looks like a ticket I just answered - i replied that there isn't a way in core Totara to do this but there is a third party plugin autoenrol that is commonly used. but this currently doesn't work in PHP 8.1

There may also be other workarounds others may be using.
