Badge Criteria

Hi,

We are in the process of integrating open badges into our learning programs. We have successfully added many of the badges we wanted, but we are still struggling to find a way to award badges for some specific criteria - I wonder if you are able to come up with a way to award the following:

  1. A badge for completing any 10 courses on the system

  2. A badge for completing a course from a particular folder category

  3. A badge for completing a specific activity type (Scorm, event) etc.

  4. A badge for adding a profile picture

  5. A badge for earning all the other badges available

  1. Create a program containing every course on your site. Set the completion criteria to be "Some courses" and set the number as 10. Not a pretty solution, but only one I can see.

  2. Assuming "folder category" is the categories you arrange your courses into, then a dynamic audience with the rule "has completed any of" and then select all of the courses in the category.

Can't work the other ones out, don't think there are audience rules which work with any of them.

Thank you Daniel,

We had thought much the same but as you suggest, these solutions are quite clunky and would require manual upkeep each time a new course is added.

It's a shame as it looks like we are going to need to rethink our badges in order to make them much more basic (and less fun). But for a few tweaks and a little more thought put into the features, it could be a really exciting tool to drive engagement.
