Using custom field to pull through a name

We have a custom field of Preferred Name and want to pull it thorugh to our Welcome bannner on the home page. The caption title on our welcome banner currently pulls through Hello [firstname]. When I change the field to Hello [Preferred Name], it displays the text 'Preferred Name' and does not pull through data from the field itself. The custom field is in the category of use profile category of ESR Data.


Am I missing a step?

Hi Paula

The current user fields available in the Featured links block don't include custom fields . I added a custom field and this doesn't populate the selection box.

Are you able to use the existing Alternate name field that is available as a field?

Thank you for the suggestion. I don't recall us ever seeing or using the alternate name field but we will definitely take a look.
