Hi Team,
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to adjust the transparency of the block behind the text when you are using the tile course format.
This appears to be a default setting in the general course block.

The tiles course format is not part of core Totara so not guaranteed to be compatible with Totara .
From the documentation FAQs it looks like there are known issues in Totara 12 and probably more issues introduced as theming has changed significantly in later versions of Totara.
