Hi there,

I'm reaching out to gather some insights on a matter related to our security courses. I am in the process of creating certifications for few security courses with the intent for the course status to reset after a certain period, either after six months or a year. I've already created programs for these security courses. However, I am curious about what will happen to the progress of individuals who have already completed these courses under the existing program. Specifically, will their course progress be reset if I assign these courses through the certification feather to the same audience? Or will it remain unaffected in the program?

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on whether it is advisable to use the same courses in both the program and the certification. Your insights and experience in handling similar situations would be incredibly valuable.

Hi Muhammed

If the same course is in the certification and program and the user is assigned to both of these then resetting the cousre completion will reset this in the program as well. The course completion record is the same whether the course is part of a program or certification so recommend that the courses are separate instances for the program and certification.

You will also get an exception duplicate course in different certifications error when assigning a user if you try this

Thank you so much for your response and guidance. I have a follow-up question in this situation.

One of our business units has expressed a desire to reset the security course progression for their learners. The majority of their learners have already completed these courses under the current program. Is there a way to reset the course progression in bulk for the entire organization, considering they have already completed the courses under the program?

Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jamil

There is a reset course completions that will reset course completions for all users who have previously completed the course. However courses which are a part of a program or certification cannot be reset manually. This is to avoid unexpected results.

It appears that we are unable to set up certification for courses that are already part of existing programs. If we proceed with certification, the course progress for both the certification and the programs will be reset, which is something we would like to avoid.
