Hello,

Apologies, I'm new here, so hello all.

We have just started using Totara, and I am supporting trainers to better understand seminar notifications. I have had a request to test the notifications 'Booking details changed.' When I tested it yesterday this didn't seem to be an instant notification.

So, I had some questions, that I haven't been able to find in the support pages yet:

  1. Where can I find the more advanced detail about what actions result in the booking details changed trigger (and preferably others), which sends its notification?

  2. Where can i find the details for the exact time this trigger will be checked, and its notification sent (and preferably others)?

  3. Does this old post, that seems to refer to its original name, indicate only the seminar date and time change result in this trigger?

Thank you in advance for any of your help, I'm fairly sure I understand and can edit the basic - intermediate points around triggers and notifications, but it's difficult finding more advanced guidance.

Hi Tyrone

There are details of the notification triggers in the help docs

The booking details change is when the date or time are changed

More detailed explanation of how notifications are processed are https://totara.help/docs/what-are-centralised-notifications#how-centralised-notifications-are-processed

The scheduled task is send seminar notifications which by default is run every hour

Hi Craig,

Thank you for your reply and confirming the booking details change trigger is only set off by a change in the date and time. It is level of detail that i couldn't see in the Totara documentation, as i had found both pieces of guidance you sent.

Is there any more detailed guidance, about how to see the times (when and how often) each notification will run?

At this point i'd better asked if the centralised notifications timings, would be different to the course level versions?

In other words if i am not using the site version of a notification, and i have adapted it at the course level, will the enabled courses versions go out / run with the site versions.
