SCORM attempt results reporting

Dear all,

I have had a brilliant request from a course owner:

For 'a report on MyT&D which can show which questions were answered correctly and incorrectly?'

They are 'trying to build up an idea of any trends to see if we can better improve any guidance we have.'

I have gone into the Course, the SCORM link and its Reports. From here I can select the interactions report, and used the filters below the table to select 'users with attempts only' and 'Summary of questions' (I have also tried the other options, like 'summary of result'). But the additional response columns/fields are all blank. They seem to pick up the number of questions, but the values are not there. These are still blank when I export them.

When i go into an individual's SCORM attempt, I can see some useful data, like 'result'. So i don't know why this isn't showing in the table for everyone. There are 150+ attempts, so it wouldn't be ideal to download these by individual.

These seems like an issue/ bug or possibly settings issue to me. Does anyone else have any thoughts please?

Just a follow up to the above.

I have just been looking at the data we have access to via PowerBi, but from what i can see this still does not seem to include the cmi.interactions data i would need for the above. Some other attempt cmi data shows per user in the element column, but not the actual question level data.

I anyone is able to advise, that would be much appreciated.

Hi Tyrone.

I have had the same problem. In the end, we removed the assessment questions from the SCORM package and set them up using Totara's built-in Quiz activity. It may not be as pretty as can be achieved in the SCORM package, but it is a lot more powerful, flexible, reliable, and reports better. And will allow you to analyse responses to the questions.

You can allow for things like extra time for dyslexics or additional attempts, and add penalties for additional attempts.

All that we have in the SCORM packages are the learning material and some simple questions to emphasise certain points and to keep them awake.

We then set the course completion dependent on the quiz's grade.

Thank you for your reply, and i had that very thought this morning, that Totara quiz tool might be the better route. It's a shame that most people who need to do the course have done it.

We use Moodle Plugins directory: Question trends | Moodle.org to obtain the question-level data.

It's used sparingly as the format still requires some work to make it into meaningful data.
