- Australian Bureau of Statistics: Rob Howarth
Born in the rural community of Orange, New South Wales, nestled in the remnants of an extinct volcano rimmed by MT Canobolas, Rob has always thought outside the box. With his electrical trade qualification in hand he arrived in Canberra in the mid 80’s working for a multinational computing company, holding positions with titles like, Principal Branch Stores Office, Senior Logistics controller but finishing up a 10 year stint as their Purchasing Officer. Rob went on to work at the CIT successfully running their Adult Community Education program for almost 20 years. Now working as an Educational Technologist Rob has assisted the ABS move the training platform into the 21st century, with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a cloud based learning solution. But he keeps pushing for more!
Rob Howarth has been working with Learning Management System (LMS) and Student Record Systems for over two decades. More recently his focus has been on organisational learning management systems.
- Kiwibank: Nana Jones and Jeanette Sasse
Nana is a Learning Designer at Kiwibank. She has been dubbed the ‘Generalist’ from her peers due to her knowledge in Instructional Design, Digital Development and LMS administration. Nana is passionate about creating interactive learning experiences that are engaging and effective - and provides great reporting!
Jeanette is one of Kiwibank’s newest Learning Designers. With a background in 3D animation, production co-ordination and the tertiary education sector, she brings a unique combination of skills to her work. Jeanette is a strong advocate for taking action and utilising feedback to achieve great learning outcomes.

Totara Learn Director of Product Management, André Yamin, provides highly anticipated insight into the strategic direction of our product ecosystem.
In this presentation you can find out more about the recent UX and feature enhancements released in Totara Learn 12, and get an overview of what's due for release in version 13 - including multi-tenancy and enhanced reporting capabilities.
- Braemar Hospital: Josleen Itayi
Josleen has been a registered nurse for 26 years, with 13 as an educator predominantly in private surgical hospitals. She is the site administrator for Totara and Mahara at Braemar Hospital,where she successfully led the systems implementation in 2018. Josleen describes her role as vast, autonomous and adaptable.

- VTNZ: Kelvin Hylton
Kelvin Hylton is the Technical Training Manager at the VTNZ Support Office. He has been with VTNZ for over 10 years and has worked his way up in various roles. Kelvin was heavily involved in the major reconstruction of how learning is communicated across the organisation and has been the key driver to the Learning Centre success.
- Family planning: Ange Robinson
Ange loves to talk so it’s no surprise that she has a background in Contact Centre and Collections leadership and management. Currently working for Family Planning as the Manager of Contact Services & Professional Training and Development, Ange also runs a Coaching and Training Consultancy and mentors aspiring female leaders in the Hamilton migrant community.
- Ministry for primary industries: Tina Griffin
Tina is an award-winning learning designer who has a wealth of experience working with organisations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers in the UK and as a senior consultant with Kineo APAC. She now provides strategic and digital leadership to build learning and development capability at MPI.
- Tourism New Zealand: Paul Trowell
Paul specialises in digital marketing and education. Paul is regularly involved with global travel agent training programmes, strategy and delivery to enrich New Zealand by motivating, connecting and enabling global travel partners to grow the contribution of international visitors. Paul is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace and regularly develops trade engagement campaigns to assist the global travel industry with effective tools and content to help sell New Zealand.
