Student review of feedback on essay question on a lesson

Good Day

I am battling to find out how a student can review feedback received on a completed essay question on a lesson activity. The student can receive the feedback via email when the teacher sends this. But how can they access this feedback via the LMS?

As a student I can run my ‘user report’ to view my grades and feedback I’ve received on a course. I can see my feedback for assignment activities but not for Lesson activities, in particular essay type questions. How can I review my feedback for lesson activities?

I have attached a screen shot to illustrate the problem, the last item is a essay question which has feedback from the teacher but its not displayed to the student.

It looks like the feedback is only available by email rather than the grade report using the lesson module.

There is a module that has been developed for Moodle that displays the teacher feedback from an essay in a lesson in a block. http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=177306 -

It looks like this has been adapted to work with Moodle 1.9 so should work with Totara without too much work.
