SCORM not updating

Totara Version: Version 1.0.19 (Build: 20110726.00)

Hi,

I have a problem with SCORM on my Totara.

I have created a course and set the format to SCORM Format. I then went into the course and uploaded a SCORM package.

I created a user (learner) and assigned the learner to the course. I then logged in as the learner, navigated to the course and completed the SCORM. My results appeared in the My Reports > SCORM results area.

I then logged back in as an Admin and wanted to update the SCORM package. I went into the SCORM settings and in the 'Package file' I choose or upload new file > browse and located a new SCORM package. After uploading and saving, I logged back in as a Learner and revisited the course with the updated SCORM.

My problem is when I click on the SCORM it keeps on loading the old SCORM, even after deleting the old SCORM from the files area, rebooting my computer and clearing the cache on the browser.

I wanted to test to see if I have some learner results in the My Reports section against a Course that has one SCORM in it, will the results still stay there if I update that SCORM?

I never got round to this because I keep on seeing the old SCORM package.

Hi Haroon,

That's strange, I've just tried what you described and for me the new package appears. It also deletes the old tracking data so the SCORM report would reflect progress on the new package (not the old one).

Could you let me know what browser you are using, and also what database your installation is using (mysql, postgres or mssql).

I'll see if I can reproduce the problem with the same setup as you.

Not sure if you are able to share the SCORM packages you are trying, if you can you could email them to me at simon.coggins@totaralms.com and I'll test them too.

Just a quick note to say it should only delete the old tracking data if there isn't a matching SCO in the imsmanifest.xml - so if you modify the content in the package but leave the imsmanifest.xml file as-is it shouldn't delete any tracking data.

Thanks Dan, good to know. I replaced the package with a completely different one, which would explain why it deleted it for me.
