Face-to-Face module confirmation emails

We seem to have a problem with Face-to-Face module sending emails "from" the recipient and thereby being considered spam. At least we presume that's why they get mistreated.

Looking closer at the email headers (below) it actually includes a "proper" Return-Path address which is approved by SPF check - in fact this particular message wasn't treated as spam, coming via gmail, but our client's email client presumably overlooks the SPF stuff and labels it spam.
Is there a way to set a better From: address? I tried setting Course Contact — site.com/admin/settings.php?section=coursecontact — but that made no difference.

addendum:

The Return-Path: address in the header is actually the site's Support Email address, as set here:

 /admin/settings.php?section=supportcontact

Hi Alan,

I was trying to see if I can find anything about this issue, but it seems like there is not much information on Moodle community web site.

There might be a way of configuring SPF records for a domain you are using, but I am not an expert in this question.

Is it only Facetoface notifications issue or all emails from your web site go into spam folder?

Yuliya

All the built-in face to face notifications are being marked as spam as they contain the same from address as the recipient address. It seems a poor oversight and I can't think what would be the purpose of this arrangement. It looks as though we may have to do some core changes to fix this although hopefully it's not a large task.

Hi Alan,

This is an intentional behaviour. Currently, users are getting emails from a user that performed an action in the system. So, if a user signed up for a f2f session, they will get email from themselves. If a manager/admin signed a user up for a session, they will get an email from a manager. This ensures that no emails are sent out on someones behalf without them knowing.
