Certification expiry date vs due date

Hi, I am trying to get my head around the logic in certification module.

I have a certification that people need to complete annually.

Certification is valid for a year, recertification windows reopen  2 months before it expire. If I do not complete within the 2 months window it means I am not certified.

Does it still require a due date to be set under assignment tab (with audience assignment) then if I have previously completed the same certification?

So if I do have a due date under assignment tab, what will the %duedate% variable prints in message templates, is that expiry date or the due date from assignment tab?

Hi Mei

There is some documentation on Certifications that explains the concepts with examples.

When the recertification window opens all learning paths will be reset - the learner will still have twelve month to recertify but the recertification will be open two months before expiry of primary certification.

The due date won't need to be manually reset this will automatically adjusted depending on settings.

The due date is the actual due date rather than the assigned due date as these may differ as described here
