Reset Certification Completion for certain audiences

Hi

I need to reset the course completion for certain audiences - everyone in a couple of audiences need to retake one of our certifications again.

This certification is assigned to lots of audiences but we only need to make the members of a couple retake the course.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Lucy

It is possible to take the users out of the couple of audience - this unenrols them from the courses and Certifications but when the users are reassigned to the Certification their records are restored which is not what you are wanting.

I can't think of a way to stop this happening automatically so think you will need to use the  program completion editor to edit the records manually -unless someone else can think of a way around this.

Hi Craig

Thanks for your response.

Our course is set up to be a certification with an expiry date.  When resetting it to force learners to retake the certification, what is the best approach:

  1. Set the Certification Completion Status to "Newly Assigned"?  and no Due Date?
  2. Set the Certification Completion Status to Expired and put the Due Date to Today?
  3. Other options?

I purely need to get a whole group to redo this mandatory certification.  Is there a best practice??

Thanks

Lucy

Hi Lucy

Unassigning the user will place their certification into history - when the user is reassigned the completion record will be restored from the History - saying they have completed this.

You want the certification status to be Not certified and certification path to be Certification with a due date when this needs re certifying.

Using the editor  option 1 Certification completion date should be 'Newly assigned' - this should make the Certification status 'Not Certified ' Change In progress to 'No' as no progress has been made yet. Adjust the Due date to when re certification is required.
