Hi Andrea

I can't think of a way to update job assignment names in bulk except by using the HR Import and Job assignment source 

This separate source was created in version 10 to help manage job assignments.

Hi Andrea

Yes it is possible to export the user data to excel and change the data - this would the changed file to be imported using HR Import which is what you were trying to avoid.
