Add pdf to book

I was given a pdf file through DropBox. I want to add it to a book. It was suggested that I open the file in Google Docs and then share with a viewing link. I tried this and it works, but is this the best way to do this? I'm not sure what the learner will see when they open the file.

Hi Karen

I think if you upload the file to Totara with the file picker and link to or embed the file in a resource rather than using an external file system then this would be simpler and more efficient.

Hey Karen,

I think you want to display the PDF for users as opposed to them opening it separately.  If that's the case the GoogleDocs trick is the right way to do it.  You can follow these instructions to publish the GoogleDoc, copy the embed code and add the sizing to make it display: LINK

This also works great for embedding slides/presentations into Totara too
