Hi everyone,

This week, we’ve launched a new course and we have two webinars for you.

New Academy course

Using the quiz activity in Totara Learn can be a great way to assess learners and ensure they’ve understood course content. However, not all topics lend themselves to being assessed via a quiz. You may need to ask learners to demonstrate their knowledge or skills through the form of an assignment. Assignments in Totara Learn allow learners to submit longer, structured responses to questions which can then be assessed by a Trainer.

Like assignment, the workshop functionality in Totara Learn also allows learners to submit responses to questions, only these responses can be peer-reviewed by other users on the course. To learn more about the assignment and workshop activities enrol on the new Academy course today.

This week’s webinars

Continuing with the theme of peer-to-peer feedback, on Wednesday Wes will be looking more at how to utilise forums to enable comments, likes and more. So if you’re looking to stimulate social learning on your site be sure to attend the webinar on the 2nd October at 4pm BST or on the 3rd October at 10 AM NZST.

On Thursday we’ll be focusing on content curation and we’ll have an overview of Anders Pink. Anders Pink allows you to make use of the vast amounts of information freely available on the internet and bring content directly into Totara Learn with no coding needed. To learn more join the webinar on the 3rd October at 4pm BST / 11 am EDT.

Totara awards

The deadline for this year’s Totara awards is just under two months away! If you’d like to be in with a chance of winning an award be sure to submit your case study by the 29th November. If you’ve already submitted a case study in previous years have you considered updating it to show how your project has progressed? If you do then you’ll also be entered for the awards. Find out more about how to enter here.
