How to set an "Enrollment Window" for a course
by ? ? - Wednesday, 2 October 2019, 10:19 AM

So, we've got a set of courses, one every week, and we'd like to limit enrollment to the week before and the week of a course, but not allow new enrollments outside that window (either manual or from a dynamic audience). Is there a way to accomplish this, maybe through a custom date field?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Adam

I have had a look at the settings in audiences and manual enrolments and there isn't an option to add a course custom date field in audiences or the enrolment plugin.

There are a few more options in the self enrolment plugin - this allows a start and end date for self enrolments and also the option to add an enrolment key and limit number of enrolments.

Could this work for you ?

Hi Craing,

I am about to use this option, but I have a dilemma.

For logging purposes, I want people who enrolled until that date to stay enrolled. Will they remain enrolled even after that date. We are using Totara 2.9.

Best,

Vladimir

Hi Vladimir

What happens when an enrolment expires is controlled through the Enrolment expiry action  for the enrolment method.

There is a choice of 'Keep user enrolled' and 'Disable course enrolment and remove roles' -these mean the user's grades are retained.

Thanx Craig,

much appreciated.

I tried searching for this, but I guess I used the wrong key words.

Best,
