We have a number of different audiences and we want to be able to provide a news feed specifically for individual audiences on a seperate dashboard. Currently we have created audience based dashboards. We have added the Latest Announcements block to two different dashboards - however when I place a message on one it appears on both.
Any help appreciated.

The latest announcements block is pulling in content from the announcement forum on the Frontpage. All users are enrolled in the frontpage course so all will see the announcements.
If you don't want an audience to see the announcements then you can delete the latest announcements block from the dashboard the audience accesses.
Another possibility is to use an RSS feed block and Enable RSS feeds on selected forums and add this block with the appropriate feed links to each dashboard.

One of our client is trying to do something similar : they have 2 dashboards : one for learners and one for managers and would like to have a communication block for these specific roles.
I wanted to create an annoucement forum in a single-activity course and limit its visibility with audience, but all the forum types allow users to post.
Is there another way to create an anouncement block limited to a specific audience/role ?

It is possible to use separate groups and post announcements to selected groups and group members would only see the announcements posted to that group. Members of groups can also assigned through audience sync
