Does anyone know the best report source to use to identify courses within programmes?

We use the same courses across a number of different programmes and want to run an audit so when we update a course we can find the programmes it is being used in and make sure each programme is updated with the new course.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul

There doesn't seem to be any suitable report sources that lists the program/s that a course is included in.

If you use the Grid catalogue included in Totara 12 and above and you search for a course the results show the programs/Certifications  the course is in.

Thanks Craig. I will explore this further.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I'd be interested in how others keep track of courses deployed across multiple programmes.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

This might sound like a stupid question but when you say you update a course do you mean you update the existing course or you build a new course to replace the existing one?

If you a just updating a course then you won't need to find the program because it's all just one course shared across multiple programs.  However if you are building a brand new replacement course then yes you would have to add that new course to the programs.

Cheers

Nathan

Hi Nathan

No that's a good point. If we keep the course page the same but just update the content then as you say the course stays within the programmes.

It's only an issue if we replace the course page with a new course page.

The problem is that courses change overtime to meet new regulatory requirements and if we have to retire a course and start again we need to know where the course has been deployed so we can maintain consistency.

Thanks for the clarification though.
