Hi everyone

This is for Totara version 12.

I have set up an audience with alerts as "Send alerts to affected members only"

When I add a member they receive an email notification from noreplycompany@domain.com

The From field is the users own name. 

For example I receive 

From: Brooke Jacobs <noreplycompany@domain.com>
Date: Wed, 20 Jan 2021 at 10:45
Subject: You have been added to the audience "Brooke's Notification Audience Test"
To: Brooke Jacobs 

I have checked the outgoing mail server settings via /admin/settings.php?section=outgoingmailconfig 

The noreplyaddress is correct. There is no option to add a sender name.

I have checked audience global settings too.

Is there a way I can change the name for "from" field for audience notification?

Hi Brooke

I have confirmed that the noreply address is added and the user's name is added automatically. 

I will check with the development team if this is the expected behaviour for the noreply address - I can't see why this would be the case.

Hi Brooke

Can you detail the problem that having the users's name in the noreply address is - this is intended to make it clear not to reply to the email . 

Can you also confirm the email type that this is generated from - is it the audience member added one that is generated from the audience or other ones .

The email type is generated when a member is added to an audience or removed from audience. 

The subject of the email is "You have been added to the audience "XYZ"

Yes the issue is it being the users name being the sender instead of the noreply email address name.

Thanks for confirming the message type and what the problem is - I will make our developers of notifications aware of this and will include this in the notifications feature request we are working on.
