We had the same problem and used a link to a report using the 'seminar session' source.

We used a quick links block, because the report table display was not very pleasant, but I suppose you can also use an HTML block, and use audience-visibility to manage who can see it.

Hope this helps, but this is sort of a workaround and we would be very interested if Totara can improve the experience of facilitators with dedicated blocks.
