It is possible to change the setting 'Default home page for users' under Site Admin > Navigation > Navigation settings to Front page 

This is usually set to Totara Dashboard which gives more flexibility in allowing multiple dashboards and making dashboards appear for selected audiences.

The URL for the from tpage is 'sitename'/redirect=0
