Course completion uploads - results not as complete via RPL

Hi all,

We are building a T16 instance and need to transfer all completions from T12 in to the new environment.

1. How can we upload without the courses showing as "complete via RPL" once uploaded

2. How can we do this easily in bulk (I mean years and years of 40k + users data)

Cheers

Bek

Hi Bek

The expected behaviour if you are uploading completions to an existing course is that they will show as RPL

Are you able to upgrade the 12 site to 16 and then backup the course with user data

This will allow you to restore the course or some activities into an existing course or new course - the options to take depend on whether the users or course already exist on the new system.

If the users don't exist on the new system they will be added along with their activity and course completion data

If the users and courses already exist on the new site then it will trickier as duplicate records will exist

Hello Craig,

I was having a look around for an answer and stumbled on this thread!

Is it possible to upload courses to a new system, and keep the course completion data for users who already exist on the system, without duplicating the users themselves?

Thank you!

Hi Laura

if the user already exists in the new system then uploading the course completion will upload as RPL to the same course that is in the new system. without duplicating the user assuming they have the same username.

it is also possible to do a course backup with user data and restore into the new system providing the system restoring to is later than original and has any customisations the same as original site. this would restore all the activity completion data as well.
