We would like to use the Block "News-Feed" to display the news from our internal communications network (Intranet).
Is the RSS stream loaded in the browser by the calling/visiting person or is it loaded in advance on the server side?
This info is crucial for us to find out to change authorization/permission settings.

I am thinking that this is loaded in advance on the server side to Totara as there is a setting block_rss_timeout which is the time in minutes between a reread of the feed by Totara
Does this confirm this ?

Is there a possibility or even a plugin that not only shows anonymous rss feeds, but also rss feeds that require authentication?

I think that if the RSS site requires authentication then this means the content is wanted to be kept private so should be kept private even if it is technically possibly to do this.
