Dynamically adding participants to a tenant ?

Hi all, I was exploring Totara and wondering if it would be possible to automatically add users to a tenant based on some pre-set rules.

Also if somebody could help me out with the differences - groups vs audiences

and which one would be a better choice to use in what kind of scenario ?

Hi Dhairya

It is possible to use HR Import to add or update a user's tenant membership/participation

Groups are used for separating users within course activities whereas audiences are used to select users across the site.

  • Audiences can be used to enrol selected users into courses/programs, assign roles , assign performance activities

  • Groups can be used to separate enrolled users in course activities

Groups and audiences can be used together it isn't a case of groups or audiences - foe example you can use audiences to assign users to groups.

Audinecies are rules for entery site... I use it for:

  • Enrolments

  • Dashboards

  • Role sets

  • Viewing custom reports

Groups are more effective for managing different "audiences" in a single course. They have less application in training than in formal education.
