Do you want to draw attention to specific items in your catalogue? Why not use the Featured learning option, which highlights items which meet your defined criteria in the catalogue.

Featured links are highly customisable blocks that link users to pages within or outside your Totara site. Featured links blocks can include course tiles to link to your courses, static blocks which link to a URL within or outside your site or even gallery tiles that include a rotating set of images, each linking to a different place. 

Another great option within featured links is the opportunity to restrict the visibility of a featured links block to a particular audience so you could just show information to one set of users.
