Hi Simon,

When logged in as an administrator, on the home page there should be an Administration block on the left.

Administration -> Front Page Settings -> Turn editing on

You should then see a pencil icon that you click to edit the section summary text blocks, and can also add/edit resources and activities on the front page. In addition there are further options in Administration -> Front page settings -> Edit settings such as a front page summary and various information blocks that can be added to the front page.

Ah! Sorry. Yes that is a language string. It looks like someone has already previously made a local language customisation as your text is different from the default.

Go to Site Administration -> Language -> Language customisation

Open the English language pack for customisation

In "Show strings of these components" select moodle.php

There are two strings, the title "Is this your first time here?" has the string identifier "firsttime" and the body text is in string identifier "loginsteps". So you can search for those using the "String identifier" box, and change them to whatever you want.

Hi, Simon

In addition to Ciaran's note about updating the language string for "Is this your first time here?", if you want to change the login instructions via the user interface, go to Site administration > Plugins > Authentication > Manage authentication and enter your login instructions in the Instructions box.

You still need to edit the language string if you want to change the "Is this your first time here?" login instruction title.

Hope that helps!

Cheers.

Tom

Is there a way to remove that text and not have any text or put an image in it's place?
