Course completion status block alternative

Dear all,

Just wondering whether anyone here know of any 3rd party Moodle/Totara plugin that is similar to the "Course completion status" block, but with a better "visual" cue for the learners to let them know that they have completed the course.

Our current work-around is to create a "label" (with a big COMPLETED picture) and put restriction to this label like this:

However, the problem of this approach is that the restriction of this label will NOT automatically sync'ed with the "Course completion" setting under the Course administration block. We tried the "course completion status" block, but I don't think it has what we are looking for, which is a big, obvious visual cue for the learner that they have successfully completed this course.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party plugin that might be able to achieve this, or any other creative solutions to this? Thanks!

Hi Wen

You could try awarding a Badge on course completion and then add the My Latest Badges block to the Front page.

This would show a nice big badge graphic on the frontpage (or course page) when the badge criteria are met.

This also has the benefits of being

  • transportable,
  • awarded on activity level,
  • include details of what this is awarded for
  • verifiable
  • can have an expiry date set..

Not very creative but uses what is already in Totara.
